There have been hundreds of books designed to show the reader how to improve your writing, whether novels, stories or whatever. Most of these books were written by people who have achieved a modicum of success in one area. Then fall to rely on "How To" books, no doubt, strengthen its sales of books in the process. This is not the case with this book.
Written by Stephen King, Stephen King himself, the man whose books have sold chillions copies worldwide, and whose films (or films of his books) made themselves known throughout the world, including The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, Carrie and The Shining, to name just four.
With an origin that what this book deserves to be taken seriously, and it is. The work is partly autobiographical, it is much easier to read for him. It contains a limited number of exercises for aspiring writers, and the last chapter and verse of his terrible accident, if it's the right word for when, while walking one afternoon, he is broke by a drunk driver to pay much attention to a dog in the cabin. If you like Stephen King books, you'll love this book.
If you do not like King's work, in whatever shape or form, but are always interested in improving your own writing, so you'll always love this work. I literally could not put it down and I am happy, so I'm on it. The next time you see a copy of Stephen King on writing, buy it and do yourself a favor. It's a great book, one I found very encouraging.
